For the last 3 years, Boa has taken a hands on approach to helping the worlds AIDS problem, one t-shirt at a time. Each year, our custom made Canada Flag T's have been available at out stores, with every penny of profit donated to the AZT Prophylaxis program in Zimbabwe. This program is dedicated to stopping the spread of AIDS/HIV in its track, by vaccinating a newborn with an infected parent. The AZT Prophylaxis drug can essentially eliminate the virus from a newborn body. Perfect for Canada Day, and summer traveling, come support the cause by buying a limited edition t-shirt between the months of May-July, while supplies last.
In an effort of reducing the amount of carbon dioxide in our earths atmosphere, and reducing plastic waste, Boa made the conscious decision in 2006 of using only paper bags for purchases, rather then plastic in its stores.

- Limit your shopping bag in take - If you're doing a spree, and you have 3 bags from other stores, why get a 4th to put that new lace trim tank top you just bought. Just say "No thanks, i don't need a bag"
- Buy garments that are made as close to home as possible - Reduce your carbon footprint by buying local designers or goods shipped in from across North America as opposed to overseas.
- Sustainable fabrics - Buy fabrics that can endure, such as bamboo. It is an eco friendly fabric, that is capable of lasting the long haul.
- Washing machines set to cold - There are few times when we need to use hot or even warm water to wash our clothes. Doing so will use more energy. Wash cold, and keep your energy bill low. Remember your colours maintain better in a cold wash too.
- Recyclable packaging - When making purchases that involve a lot of packaging (ie. shoeboxes), ask the retailer if they have a recycling program in place for empty boxes. This of course would only apply if its a final sale.
